Tim Henke - vocals
Tim’s vocals and drumming have been a mainstay in the La Crosse area jazz, pop and church music scene for many years and can be heard on all three Great River Big Band CDs as well as the La Crosse Jazz Quartet CD. A member of LJO since 1976, his performance credits also include the Bob Hope Show, Roger Williams, the Shrine Circus, Clark Terry, Milt Hinton, Sunny Wilkinson, Janet Planet, Bob Mintzer, Curt Elling, La Crosse Symphony Orchestra, La Crosse Concert Band, Great River Big Band, La Crosse Jazz Quartet, Greg Balfany Band, Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church Praise Team and local theater productions. Now retired, he served as Director of Percussion Studies at UW-La Crosse from 1979 to 2000 and Instrumental Music Teacher/Director in La Crescent, Minnesota from 1980 to 2019.
ABOUT THE BAND
The La Crosse Jazz Orchestra is Western Wisconsin's premier big band. Directed by Greg Balfany, the group is best known through its Jazz in the Park concert series. The LJO mission: to promote, preserve and forward the creation of jazz music through free live performances available to all in our region. LJO operates under fiscal sponsorship from La Crosse Community Foundation.
